MARGIN TRADING MICRO-
LEARNING MODULE
This micro-learning, ILT module was created by client request to be added to onboarding training for new employees. Along with the templates, I also created the character, Eva, who would be the face of the training. I used Eva in every video, applying the personalization principle to make the training immediately recognizable.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Using Vyond animation along with PowerPoint's interactive features for group formative assessment, I developed a micro-learning module for a team of 12 existing employees that have been working together for 1-3 years. I was contracted to introduce alternative VILT, eLearn approaches using animation an assessments.
2
KEY CHALLENGES
The client, an online brokerage firm that provides a platform for individuals to trade stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other financial instruments.
I intentionally chose a fair-skinned personalized guide named Eva, created based on the minority demographic at E*Trade. Her role was to guide the training from beginning to end, making the animation and materials enjoyable and personable, appearing on each screen.
At the time, they faced common training challenges such as employee retention, accessible content, and addressing diversity needs. In response, the company planned to introduce micro-learning video modules for the Learning Design associates.
3
INSIGHT
With no prior Vyond experience, my client sought innovative ways to engage their global workforce of new and existing associates. By gathering extensive content on a general financial topic, Marginal Trading, I created a basic structure for the eLearning module in just over a week and developed client-branded video templates to facilitate a simple module with various media integrations for their Learning and Development team.
4
TARGET AUDIENCE
E-TRADE Associates
5
STRATEGY
I decided to implement a learning strategy using Eva, along with building interactive, formative assessments within Powerpoint. The micro-learning module followed vocabulary, finance theory, application of vocabulary, and then a facilitated assessment based on team learning. This was thematically implemented across the module three times.
The client's videos are built with Vyond, with each scene presented between Powerpoint and Articulate Storyline.
6
RESULT
Engagement with the videos was a success as well, thanks, in part to the use of storytelling and character development of Eva. By using Articulate Storyline, the client liked the smaller module, which made it easy for users to quickly learn pieces of essential information while avoiding any kind of information overload.
