FACEBOOK ONBOARDING TOOL

Facebook was relaunching its holistic Global Security onboarding program with the goal of helping new hires learn the “Facebook way.”

We handled a majority of the setup and execution, from its pre-existing form into a script and development-ready format to prepare managers for integration with their teams, setting them up for a smooth onboarding experience.

Deliverable: VILT Technical Training, Facilitator guides in presentation, job aid

ID Model: ADDIE

Client: Facebook

Tools Used: Powerpoint, Webex

1

LEARNING OBJECTIVE

Upon completion of the Facebook Global Security onboarding program, new hires will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the "Facebook way," including its core principles and values.

2

ANALYSIS

The existing programs were transformed into a script- and development-ready format. The focus was on preparing managers for integrating new hires into their teams, to create a seamless onboarding experience. Despite the sparse SME interviews and tight deadlines, I implemented creative solutions for asset re-design in order to work with the limited content available.

3

DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

the technical jargon present in the content was translated into simpler language suitable for on-screen presentation. The step-by-step onboarding process was streamlined and consolidated for the learners' ease of use.

The provided assets were designed to give facilitators simplicity with context for participants to make sure  managers would leave the presentation with confidence in order to implement the "Facebook way" for Facebook n00bs.

4

IMPLEMENTATION

The re-launched onboarding program was introduced to new hires (n00bs) by their managers. The presentation was delivered by Webex.

5

EVALUATION

Overall, the relaunched Global Security onboarding program (for n00bs) received positive feedback from both trainers and new hires.

Managers reported feeling confident in integrating new team members, and new hires appreciated the clarity and accessibility of the training materials.
