BLACK GIRL SELF LOVE CARE KIT

I designed and developed these mobile-friendly, micro-learning courses using Storyline 360, Figma, and VYond. The self-care kit helps employees manage new approaches to caring for their mental, emotional, and physical health.

Each course included an interview, a journal prompting, and a meditation element to walk the user through varying practical approaches that can be used for self-care.

APPROACH

After getting started on the project, I worked with the client on their learning objectives for the experience. Since we were focused primarily on expressing options for self-love and self-care for black women, I arrived at the following:

1. Identify the effects hurriedness an identify one self-care practice
2. Differentiate between unhealthy and healthy methods of caring for emotional and mental wellness

2

KEY CHALLENGES

The client came to me during a quarter of elevated stress in the company, with prejudices and racial injustices occurring in the city of their home offices and prevalent on most media outlets (U.S.-based company). In conversation with the stakeholder, they noticed increased anxiety, depression, lowered self-esteem, and other race-based stress, there was a need for positive influence and affirmation amongst black, female employees. They were eager to provide access to an animation that would be shared in team discussions to help employees feel heard, seen, and supported.
