FACEBOOK RESPECTFUL DIALOGUE

In this 90-minute online session, Facebook employees were guided through how to engage in respectful dialogue, practice strategies for respectful debate through difficult topics regarding race/discrimination, and gain knowledge about Facebook's Respectful Communication Policy in large group chats and discussions, as well as smaller breakout sessions.

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

This 90-minute session was built to create a safe and supportive environment for participants to practice and engage in their own personal development. Facebook contacted our team to build an ILT eLearn with a producer guide, delivered via Webex on Powerpoint.

KEY CHALLENGES

The primary challenge in this project was maintaining effective communication between the two teams collaborating with the client, Facebook, while determining the visual elements for the Powerpoint presentation. Deadlines were successfully met without requiring any extensions, although both teams dedicated additional hours to ensure timely delivery.

RESULTS

The presentation included 40 participants, an achieved its objectives of equipping Facebook employees with the necessary tools and knowledge to engage in respectful dialogue and debate

Through the session, employees were able to enhance their skills in engaging in respectful conversations, particularly on challenging topics related to race and discrimination. The following were measured: 

  • Increased Knowledge and Understanding

  • Improved Communication Skills

  • Enhanced Awareness of Situated Learning

  • Positive Feedback and Engagement
