PROJECT BACKGROUND

The Homeowners 101 Course was structured into three sections, covering hand/power tool basics, smart home technology, and bathroom projects on the Gateway ON24 platform. My role involved updating the workshop's PowerPoint deck, creating supporting presentations, presenter guides, and one-pagers for live tool workshops conducted by SME/CTMs.

ANALYSIS

I conducted a thorough needs assessment to identify the specific requirements of the homeowners based on the demographics included above. We gathered past data of Home Depot 101 Courses and conducted mini-interviews with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gain insight into instructional needs and updates to the content.

3

DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

During the design phase, I proposed drafted updates based on the needs we identified for homeowners transitioning from in-house courses to online learning. The course content was organized and sequenced, I selected appropriate instructional strategies, and kept the same activities to engage homeowners.

IMPLEMENTATION

The course was delivered through a combination of ILT and VILT sessions on the ON24 Gateway platform. The SME/CTMs lead live, scheduled workshops that provided practical demonstrations and engage the participants in interactive discussions through a chat box. The main challenge stemmed from the lack of collaborative communication for necessary edits, which were provided individually and outside of milestone deadlines.
