BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Resume and LinkedIn Labs were developed to assist learners in enhancing their resumes and LinkedIn profiles to effectively present their skills and achievements to potential employers, aiming to increase their visibility in the job market and boost their self-assurance.

2

CHALLENGE

It was challenging to compile all of the updated trends for the LinkedIn platform in the current job economy (specifically in the tech sectors). Building the activities with clarity was the most important, so the instructions were most important since learners complete this 2-part Lab asynchronously.

3

INSIGHT

Learners needed guidance on structuring and formatting their LinkedIn profiles to attract employers and network effectively. The original intention was for learners to meet the MVP requirement for career services, but through research, additional components were integrated for a full profile-building experience for learners.

STRATEGY

The design strategy of this two-part, hands-on Lab aimed to empower learners with the skills and confidence necessary to effectively showcase their role achievements, media, features, portfolio, URL, headline, skills, and certifications in a crowded job market. By the end of the labs, learners would have updated and polished LinkedIn profiles that accurately represent why they should be hired for the role(s) they apply to.
